issue looms as partisan hurdle in Clinton trial
Republican and Democratic members of Congress remained at odds Sunday
over whether to call witnesses in the impeachment trial of President Bill
Clinton.
Meanwhile, Clinton lawyers were preparing for what they called a "vigorous,
successful and complete" defense of the president over charges of perjury
and obstruction of justice stemming from his relationship with former intern
Monica Lewinsky.
